Rockmoon Pte Ltd is serious games product development company based in Singapore.
Our business focus is on developing game-based learning products, specifically mobile apps and courseware for teaching and training purposes.
And underlying our commitment to quality is our product development philosophy – intuitive fun. Because we believe that the most effective way to learn is through play, where one learns unconsciously.
Since Rockmoon’s inception in November 2010, we have been engaged by schools and enterprises to co-create educational games and tools.
Well, we did not pluck the name from the air. Rather, the name is a product of our 'group think', i.e. brainstorming by our staffers.
Serious games are games developed with pre-defined learning objectives rather than for entertainment.
Commonly known as game-based learning products, serious games are mobile or web applications developed (usually on interactive digital media platforms) specifically for learning, teaching, advocacy or for problem-solving.
What sets serious games apart from mainstream e-learning tools is that it enables learners to internalise and personalise their learning experiences, while at the same time allows organisations to increase their productivity. This is possible because the interactive nature of serious games means that the three different types of learners – visual, auditory and kinesthetic – are able to be engaged through the immersive environments of the serious games applications.
In short, serious games harness the power of innovative infocomm technology to greatly enhance the effectiveness of learning by offering learners an enriching and engaging experience in an entertaining and informal setting.
And the good news is that the use of serious games is not limited to just the educational sector. It can be deployed by the automotive, engineering, entertainment, financial services, hospitality, healthcare, manufacturing, military, real estate and retail industries.
